Slurpfest at Stage with Outpost Coffee

Slurpfest comes to Leeds for the first time this week, and on Saturday we've got the Outpost Coffee team taking over our bar, bringing a range of coffees for your tasting pleasure. Expect good brews, good chats, and a load of extra baked goods from our talented kitchen team.

Throughout the day we'll have a blind tasting competition taking place where anyone can win a prize by matching up what they're tasting. It'll be a game of slapping magnetic words on a whiteboard like it's your nan's fridge, and then digging through a hat for prizes like you're picking a team for your office football sweepstakes.

15:30 to 21:00

After the regular caffeinated traffic has died down we'll be staying open until late with a selection of decaf brews, chill tunes, chill chats, and a load of boardgames. Lights will be down low, and we might even find some candles.

A bit about Slurpfest

Slurpfest started in Manchester in 2024 as a grassroots celebration of independent speciality coffee. The idea began after co founder Nat McDonald visited World of Coffee in Copenhagen that summer, with the first Slurpfest taking place across Manchester in November.

Rather than holding everything in one venue, events took place across the city’s cafés, with tastings, competitions and a coffee trail. The same format is coming to Leeds this September, with more than 30 venues taking part and a citywide coffee trail beginning on Monday 21 September.

About Outpost

Outpost work with producers growing distinctive coffees, with an emphasis on better pay and support for growers. Education is also a big part of what they do, from training their wholesale partners to running coffee cupping sessions where different origins, processing methods and roast profiles can be tasted side by side.
